My first recollection of horses was when I was about 3 years old. I lived near Los Angeles, California, and remember riding at the Griffith Park stables. Before I got my first horse, I would play imaginary horse in the hills of L.A. every chance I got. I got my first horse at the age of 12 and competed for years at horse shows in Western and English classes. I then briefly left the world of horses to go to college and pursue a career. In the pursuit of career I rode horse patrol in Yosemite National Park as a park ranger. I realized then how much I missed horses, and began to work toward integrating horses into my profession.

I met Pat and Linda Parelli in Los Angeles in 1997 while searching for support and training for the horse patrol program I was developing for a public safety agency. I was so inspired by the Parelli program I completed Levels 1 and 2 within 7 months. Within a year, I had quit my job and left my profession behind to pursue a new career as a Parelli Professional Instructor. In November 2001 I was asked to join the team of Parelli Professional Instructors. As I continue my journey in the Parelli program I realize that everything I learned in my career has enabled me to be an effective instructor.

Over the past few years I have expanded my experience in the sports of dressage, reining, working cow horse, and cutting. I have added to my knowledge of horses through studying equine dentistry, body mechanics, and saddle-fitting.

I am currently working on my Level 4 horsemanship and focusing on the sport of reining. The barn where I teach and board my horses is in Santa Rosa, California. The facility offers a Cover-All covered arena, playground, round pen, and short distances to beaches, mountains, and Pt. Reyes National Seashore for great trail riding and horse camping. At the barn, I offer clinics and private lessons.

One of the greatest gifts I receive from being a Parelli Professional is to support the evolution of the relationship between the students and their horses through the Parelli program. I also am gratified to see the support and friendship that develops between the students that come to the clinics. And of course, my relationships with my horses are constantly evolving as my understanding and learning progresses.

I remain an enthusiastic learner, and my commitment and loyalty to Pat and Linda Parelli grows stronger as I see their devotion to the development and expansion of the Parelli program.
